Rakulan Uthayanayaky Kandasamy
Founder & Executive Director
Rakulan founded Save a Life in 2014 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, bringing together a small group of young volunteers around a simple idea: that ordinary people, acting together, can save lives and strengthen communities.
What began as a voluntary blood donation initiative has grown under his leadership into a nationally recognised, youth-led organisation working across climate action, health promotion, child and youth development, gender equality, economic empowerment, peacebuilding and humanitarian response.
He continues to lead the organisation's strategy, partnerships and volunteer movement - now more than 1,500 active volunteers strong.
