VOICE - Strengthening free expression in Northern Sri Lanka
Supporting free expression, independent voices and civic participation across the Northern Province.

We engage youth in building healthier, inclusive, resilient and equitable communities across Sri Lanka - through education, humanitarian assistance, advocacy and climate action.

Founded in 2014 by Rakulan Kandasamy, Save a Life began as a small student initiative in Jaffna. A decade later we are a nation-wide movement of 1,500+ volunteers working across nine programmes - from mangrove restoration to menstrual health, from blood donation networks to disaster relief.
Every programme is designed around a single question: what would a resilient, equitable Sri Lanka look like - and how do we get there together?
Humanitarian assistance for families facing hardship - food security, medical relief, and emergency response.
Scholarships, tutoring and mentoring to help every child stay in school and go further.
Menstrual health, gender-based violence prevention, and economic empowerment for women and girls.
Livelihood grants and skills training that lift families out of vulnerability.
Reforestation, mangrove restoration and coastal biodiversity conservation.
Plastic collection, waste-to-value enterprises, and community recycling systems.
Blood donor mobilization, health camps and preventive-care awareness.
Savings groups, micro-enterprise coaching and financial resilience.
Flood, drought and disaster response - first-aid, shelter and long-term recovery.
Supporting free expression, independent voices and civic participation across the Northern Province.
Inclusive technical and vocational education pathways preparing youth for careers in green and climate-smart sectors.
Mental health awareness, peer support networks and psychosocial services for young people and communities.
